NMC to put forward two ‘key changes’ to English language requirements

The Nursing and Midwifery Council will seek approval for two “key changes” to its English language requirements for internationally trained applicants, following a record-breaking consultation.

The regulator will be hoping to receive the green light at its council meeting next week for proposals, which it says “aim to provide a fair and reliable approach” to ensuring professionals can communicate “safely and effectively” in English.

“These proposals will ensure that our requirements are fair and reliable for everyone”

Matthew McClelland
