Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Ogun State College of Nursing Sciences in Abeokuta, ljebu-Ode and Ilaro for 2022/2023 session. The Ogun State College of Nursing Sciences offers both Basic Nursing and Midwifery. Candidates can be admitted into any of the two courses.

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligible candidates must be age 16 years and above. The candidates must possess West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) National Examination Council (NECO) Genera/ Certificate of Education (GCE) with a minimum of five credits at not more than two sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Registration, including procurement and filling of admission form is to be done fully online via www.mohsonmportal.com  which showcases comprehensive details of the application process. Applicants are expected to have a valid email address before commencing the application process.

After completing trio registration applicants would have access to a print-out which contains the examination date, venue and time. The examination date and time should be strictly adhered to and the print-out should be in coloured format.

Candidates should be well prepared for Computer-Based Test in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology since admission is strictly ment-based.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Prospective candidates should avoid patronizing touts, fraudsters or making physical appearance at the Ministry of Health premises. Everything regarding the admission process is to be done within the comfort of the applicant’s home.

NECO and NECO and WAEC AND NECO are acceptable at not more than two sittings. National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) is also acceptable in not more than two (2) sittings but cannot be combined with either WAEC OR NECO.

ii) Applicants; for school of Nursing must be between seventeen (17) and twenty four (24) years of age. iii)SPBPON and SPBCCN; in addition to (I) above.

a) Candidates must be a registered nurse and possess a current practicing license by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

b) Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years post registration experience.

iv) CHOTP: in addition to (I) above.

a) Candidates must have diploma in community health, with two (2) years post qualification experience

b) Community health extension workers with (5) years post qualification experience

· National Diploma Certificate in Health Information Management (HIM) with a minimum of lower credit.

· Evidence of previous JAMB admission and completion of one year relevant work experience or an employee in a reputable heath institution.

· Evidence of completion of one year relevant work experience or an employee in a reputable health institution

· Release/advisory letter from employers to prospective candidates to further study will be an added advantage.

2. APPLICATION FORMS FEE (NON – REFUNDABLE):

University of Benin Teaching Hospital Advertisement for Admission for 2022/2023 Academic Session

 

Application are invited rom suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following programmes available at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital Training Schools.

1. SCHOOL OF HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (SHIM)

SHIM is a Monotechnic (Health Profession) accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN)

Entry Requirements:

A. National Diploma Programme (ND)

i. Prospective candidates must possess minimum of five (5) O’ level credit passes at not more than two sittings at WAEC, GCE, NECO OR NABTEB in the following areas: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any other subject from Physics, Geography, Economics and Government.

ii. Candidates must have met the 2022/2023 JAMB/UTME national cut-off mark for public Polytechnics and Monotechnics.

B. Higher National Diploma Programme (HND)

i. Candidates must possess the National Diploma (ND) certificates in Health Information Management in addition to meeting the requirements stipulated in “Ai” above.

ii. Technician Certificates in Health Information Management from Schools and Colleges of Health Technology may be considered for admission if such schools have been accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) and must meet the requirements stated in “Ai” above.

iii. Candidates must possess certificates or letter of one year Industrial Training (I.T) from a recognized public Health facility.

Method of Application:

i. Candidates for National Diploma (ND) are to pay a screening fee of Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00) only. Candidates who have not chosen the School previously in UTME can go ahead to effect change of institution and course as the case may be after the stipulated screening fees has been paid.

ii. Candidates for Higher National Diploma (HND) are to pay a non-refundable fee of Six Thousand Naira (N6,000.00) only. All payments should be made into UBTH revenue account through any UBTH pay points.

Closing Date:

Entry Requirements:

Basic educational qualifications

Candidates must possess five credit passes obtained in not more than two sittings in WASCE/GCE/NECO in the following subjects, English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and physics.

Professional Qualification and Experience:

Candidates must possess any of the following professional qualifications and experience:

i. Diploma in Community Health (DCH) with not less than two (2) years post qualification experience.

ii. Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) with five (5) years post qualification experience.

A. Admission forms are obtainable at the office of the Co-ordinator, Centre for Training Community Health Officers, UBTH Benin City, on payment of a non-refundable fee of Ten Thousand Naira (N 10,000.00) only to the UBTH TSA ACCOUNT using the REMITA PLATFORM in any commercial bank.

B. Deadline for obtaining and submission of completed application form is 1st July, 2022.

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

Post Graduate Diploma (PGD):

A graduate from a recognized University or a person with qualification adjudged to be equivalent to a first degree may be admitted.

Masters Degree

A Candidate with a first degree from a recognized University with a minimum of a second class lower (22) division may be admitted. A candidate with a good postgraduate diploma from a recognized University with a professional certification in addition to first degree or HND may also be admitted to a Masters Degree programme.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree

A candidate with a good Masters Degree — not less than 60% average score from a recognized University or 4.00 CGPA on a 5-point scale (or its equivalent on a 4 point scale) may be admitted. A well-researched PhD proposal of not more than 10 pages in the chosen area of specialization should be enclosed with the application form.

Duration of Programmes

Minimum of three or four semesters for the Masters Degree (e.g MPH = 4). Minimum of six semesters on the PhD programme for regular semester module.

Methods of Application

Application forms can be obtained online from our website: www.babcock.edu.ng.

1. Download and print the Application Form, fill it and scan the hardcopy and send the form to admissions@pg.babcock.edu.ng. Payment for the form will be a non-refundable application fee of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) only made to Zenith Bank 1011038916. Scan and send proof of payment with the form when sending to the secretary. Please note that this initiative is put together temporarily because of the COVID-19 pandemic in the nation.

2. Completed Application forms should be accompanied with photocopies of:

a. Bachelor’s Degree/HND Certificate and official transcript

b. Master’s Degree Certificate and official transcript for candidates proposing to pursue Ph.D.

c. NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate for Nigerian Candidates

d. Marriage Certificate or Evidence of Change of Name(s) where applicable

e. 2 recent passport-size photographs

3. Candidates should ensure that their academic transcripts are sent directly to the College of Postgraduate Studies from their former Universities (no hand delivery please). While provisional admission can be granted on the basis of certificates, no application is fully returned without the full transcripts of previous academic engagement; and this is the responsibility of the candidate.
