A GUIDE TO BECOMING A USA NURSE (USRN)
This publication revealed all you need to know to become a USA Nurse otherwise known as USRN.

To begin with, there are two routes to becoming a US Registered Nurse. The very first is Registering with ????CGFNS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools) which will take you about a year or more depends on your pace.
NOW TALK ABOUT THE FIRST STEP (REGISTERING WITH CGFNS)
Firstly, you Need to Create account with CGFNS so, go to their website and create an account Now with this Link ???????? www.cgfns.org. Ensure you already know the board of nursing that would receive your evaluated credentials. Most Nurses choose Texas and New Mexico for some reasons known to them. Evaluation with CGFNS costs $390.
For me I picked Texas ?? BECAUSE IT DOESNT REQUIRE YOU TO HAVE A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER BEFORE YOU APPLY.
Educational Qualifications
These are the documents that you need to submit to the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) before taking the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and securing your US nursing license.
Must have at least a Bachelor of Science in Nursing OR
Diploma in Nursing (RN)
MUST be a Registered Nurse in the Country of Residence and have an active Nursing license.
The license verification request form must be sent to the body of nursing you are registered with in your country of residence.
Fill all the required fields and ensure you put a valid email when registering if I where you I will create a new Email for this purpose. This is the medium through which candidates communicate with the CGFNS services.
Evaluate your credentials with CGFNS by arranging your transcript with your school which would be sent by the school to the board. The amount payable for this is dependent on your school.
Verify your license with NMCN. Verification with NMCN costs N53,500. This is exclusive of facilitation fees. a Friend called Comfort can help you with this immediately.
After your documents have been verified by CGFNS, they’ll send a report to the State Board of Nursing you registered with /Picked.
If this is successfully done, be ready to book your NCLEX-RN at wwww.pearsonvue.com/NCLEX after you might have gotten your ATT (Authorization to Test).
You will Need to Now apply for your Visa to South Africa or Philippines to write your Exam.
If your Exam is Successful, you will need to apply with an Agency of your choice for a Job in USA.
NOTE: you will need an IELTS Academic to book your Visa to USA and some state board of Nursing also requires you to have your IELTS handy before you register with them however, the Band score is usually Low such as

READING 6
WRITING 6
SPEAKING 7
OVERALL YOU NEED A 6.5
If you get the Job, the Agency will arrange for your arrival to USA.
THIS IS THE END OF THE FIRST ROUTE
NOW TO THE SECOND ROUTE WHICH MOST PEOPLE RARELY USED.
Though I heard is the fastest and easiest way to become a USRN. This process entails that you start an application with New York State Board of Nursing.
The steps are as follow:
1. Create an account with New York State Education Department (NYSED) at NEW YORK STATE BOARD OF NURSING
Open that link and scrow down to where you see a heading that reads: “Instructions for Applying for Licensure as a RN”.You’ll see 5 different RN pathways. But choose the “RN pathway #5”.
Click on it and a new page will load. On this page, you’ll see various steps. Which I will be Showing you as we follow them one after the other.
STEP 1: COMPLETE NEW YORK STATE’S REQUIRED COURSEWORK
You don’t need to complete any of these coursework as you can always file an exemption for it during the course of your application to the board.
STEP 2: SUBMIT Online Form 1 – Application for Licensure – RN.

That is the online application form. This costs $143 so you will need to pay it using your Card.
After filling your online application form, you will now need to proceed to Verification process.
THE VERIFICATION PROCESS
STEP 3:
You need to verify all your credentials at this level with your Nursing school using a Certification of Professional Education (Form 2F). You can always download this form online using this link CLICK HERE
The school will certify your education on Form 2 and send it along with your official transcript and any other required documentation to the NYSED. If your transcript is in a language other than English, you must arrange to have it translated by a translation services acceptable to NYSED.

YOU should also make arrangement for the NYSED to receive verification of your nursing license from the licensing authority that issued it For instance if you are a Nurse in Nigeria, you have to send your verification License from NMCN to NYSED using a Verification of Foreign Professional Licensure/Certification (Form 3F). NYSED will send you a mail when they receive your Verified credentials with their decision from the Office of the Nursing Unit.
While you are waiting for their Email, you should begin reading for your NCLEX EXAMINATION.
